I am happy with this new unit, nothing is wrong. As I noted in my question, the topside grill has ribs with one inch spacing. You can peer down past the enormous fan blades and see all parts.

What shall I do when I mow the lawn or there are other objects that float down into the unit? It’s a bothersome thought. Had I ‘seen’ this design before they brought it to my home I would have asked for a different unit style.

I will have it serviced annually but it seems I’ll eventually lose the battle of being able to keep the surfaces clean.

Now, what can I do? What kind of additional protection can I add to keep airborne mulch, composte, stray insects from accumulating inside? I’m thinking about adding a metal mesh, is that ok? Recommendations? Thank you for your help!

Weekend camping trip – food help!?

I am taking a weekend camping trip – Friday night to Sunday night. I have just about everything I need like a tent, air mattress, pump, lantern, grill, coolers, blankets/ pillows and OFF bug spray.

I am looking for some ideas for food. I know the ppl we are going with are bringing ribs to grill for one meal, and we’re going to bring some hot dogs, but what else can we bring? I also am looking for breakfast ideas as well.
Note- this is not a desolate area and not entirely far from home (about 50 miles).

Our main activities will be fishing and swimming.

I have boneless chuck ribs and I am planning on cooking then for 45 minutes in beer, water, salt, and pepper. Then broiling them for a while with some bbq sauce. I need a recipe that does not include vinegar. Not white, red wine, apple cider, etc. I have no money to buy any, but I need to make something. Please help! Thank you! :)

I made a batch of Carolina (cider vinegar-based) sauce last week that only went onto cooked ribs as a baste. The recipe made way more than I used and I’m wondering if it’s safe to keep what’s left, or if it needs to be thrown out due to contamination.

Gas grill fire out of control?

We were using a gas grill outside, the type that is kind of embedded in a brick table. After cooking some ribs for a while, the fire become very strong and we thought it was just the fat that fell off the ribs, but it kept going after we turn off the grill, almost like a small camp fire.
Thinking it would be dangerous to leave it until it burn its self off, I poured some water to put out the fire.
So, what was happening to it?

Can anyone answer these barbecue questions?

I am having 5 friends come over and im the only one who knows how to use the barbecue at all. I know how to cook the hot dogs, hamburgers, and steaks but how do I cook ribs?? Soak them in the marinade all day, then what? Do they need to be boiled first, then marinaded? Do they need to go in foil? Sorry for all the questions but my friends don’t know anything about this and I know from experience that they won’t even touch the barbecue!
