I’ve been on charcoal now for over 10 yrs. not & I want something different. I’m looking for a gas grill w/ island & need help. I’m looking for the quality grills, NOT SOLD by places like sears, lowes, home depot, etc. Does anyone have sites I can visit which would recommend the "best" grill for the money? I’ve looked at OCS, CAPITAL, OUTDOOR KITCHEN CONCEPTS(nice), & VIKING. All above k. I DON’T WANT TO BE SENT TO A LOWES site or related that reviews how to find a grill, I’m looking at quality brands (not Weber, brinkham, etc.)

I want to cook a barbecue style brisket, except, I don’t have a smoker or charcoal grill. I have a gas grill, an oven, and a crock pot. My brisket is pretty small, only 2 pounds. How can I cook it ?

We’ll be camping in Juniper Springs, FL this weekend and using their on-site fire pits and not the upright grills. Our 3 evening meals will be hot dogs and tinfoil packets filled with potatoes, carrots and either beef or chicken.
I’ve always cooked on wood fire and gas camping stoves so I’ve got no clue how many pounds of charcoal to bring. Any estimates or ideas would be great! Thank you!

Non-food answers please! I use mine all the time. When camping I’ll bag up rations of charcoal for grilling, seal up important documents, each of my kids christening outfits, heirloom jewelry to prevent tarnishing, individual pet food servings for traveling…
But the most odd was a dead skunk found in the back yard for the wildlife department to check for rabies. I used the BBQ tongs to touch it, ewww! Imagine what they were thinking when they received it though…

Friend and I will be going camping over the weekend, and we dont have a portable grill. The site has a fire pit, with metal grate. Can we use that? I have charcoal briquettes, newspaper, wood, cooking spray, alum foil, frying pan, and pot. Over the weekend we are looking to cook corn, potatoes, steak, eggs, chicken, and hamburgers. Thanks

My boyfriend isnt really good at getting fires started and is impatient and pours gasoline on the charcoal to get it started. He claims that the gasoline evaporates and isnt harmful for us to cook on. Im a little skeptical about it. Does anybody know if that can make you sick or is harmful?
Thanks for you help!
I know the fumes in the air arent good for you but my MAIN concern is that it will not be good to eat the food I barbecue.

I’m a city person. I live in a condo without a backyard and I don’t like to hike, camp, etc. For some reason I got a brand new mini 40 pound cast iron BBQ grill & set for Christmas. There’s no way I can use it in my condo, and no way in hell am I getting my hands dirty on charcoal, dust, cleaning, etc. I sure ain’t gonna go camping or the sort. Actually I’m just a bit pissed off at getting this chunk of heavy iron that’s has no meaning to me and taking up space in my little condo. What is the best way to dispose it?

I have never used an outdoor grill before and am gearing up for my first try for Memorial Day. However, I have some questions. I will be using a standard height basic charcoal grill on a wooden deck. Is this okay to do? I have heard wood and fire do not mix. The grill does not have the circular tray connected onto the bottom. Also how far does it need to be away from my house? It cannot be centered or to the right hand side fartherest from the house because there is a cable line approx. 8 ft in the air above the deck. I really would like to grill and just want to make sure it is safe.

Im looking to buy an outdoor barbecue for my garden. I dont want a huge one, but Ill be using it maybe once or twice a week so it should be fairly robust.
What else should I look for in a barbecue?
Also do gas barbecues give a different taste to charcoal? I like charcoal barbecues, but if they’re very similar taste, I think gas would be more convenient. I dont want a gas one if it just tastes the same as if its been grilled in a kitchen oven though
