First things first: I CANNOT barbecue or grill! (No space, no tools, and no skill–though I’m a good cook otherwise.) I’m about to reach the end of my repertoire of shrimp salads, "fancy" cold sandwiches, and the like. The weather’s hot, and I don’t feel much like cooking (or eating), but I have a family and I still need to put a meal on the table. What do you like to make on the hottest
summer days that doesn’t involve a barbecue but is actually tasty enough to be worth doing? Thanks in advance for your ideas!

Right now lots of intimate time and hiking is all that’s on the agenda. Any other ideas for what we could do/take with us?
